M-701A Laser Range Finder

Postby Dataweasel » 18 Aug 2017, 04:55

Hi all:

I was wondering if anyone has ever used a M-701A Laser Range Module and would happen to know where to get a copy of the datasheet or at least a pinout on how to connect the thing up? Here's what it looks like:

http://www.jrt-measure.com/industrial-laser-distance-sensor/53280491.html

I've tried to get the pin out from the various pictures on the site but cannot. There is no link to download either. I've sent several emails to the company (JRT) and have gotten no response. Not really all that surprising I guess.

So I thought I would throw a "hail Mary" to the forum to see if anyone has info on the device.

Thanks.

Hi Joe,

I bought the same Ranger Finder from Alibaba a couple of weeks ago. The Seller provided me with the pinout:

In addition, this might be handy for someone interested:

Communication and control
Communication interface: serial communication (TTL), 19.2K, baud rate parity bit: no parity, data bits: 8;
Function: send capital letters "O" to open the laser, capital letters "C" to close the laser, capital letters "D" (slow) or "F" (speed) for measuring distance,capital letters "S" to view the module temperature and power supply;

Cheers,

Max
